In addition to performing, Rachel is a strong advocate of The Humane Society. She was the neighborhood kid who took in the stray animals and tried to find them homes. Chewy, whom Rachel affirms is the best dog in the world, is a dog sponsored by the Humane Society. She also rescued her two cats, Dot and Dash, from a playground where they had been abandoned. Her newest puppy, Tessa was found in a garbage can without a mother. Rachel encourages everyone to support The Humane Society and the amazing works they do to ensure the safety and health of those animals that cannot help themselves.

Rachel was born in Rapid City, SD the home of Mt. Rushmore. Even though she was born in the Black Hills, she is a southern girl at heart with her family’s roots in Alabama tracing as far back as the 1600s.

Rachel has always had an affinity for performing. Her first solo performance came in Christmas 1995: she sang all three verses of “Away in a Manger” for her grandmother as a Christmas present.

At a children’s theatre in Mobile, Alabama, Rachel made her stage debut in Babes in Toyland. When the lights went down after the first performance, Rachel knew something in her life had changed.

Now, this southern-belle turned city-girl works onstage and onscreen in NYC. She lives in Brooklyn with her cat Maggie and is grateful for the journey she's had thus far.  #maggiethecat
